Electricity Directive: our suggested amendments to European Commission’s proposal

In the document attached, we propose several changes to the European Commission text on a revised Electricty Directive, published in November 2016 as a part of the Clean Energy Package for All Europeans.

The changes are meant to bring more clarity and ambition in the articles on, for example, definitions, time for changing suppliers, data access, reassessment periods, feedback channels to consumers. Any "grey areas" in the legislation could have negative affects on its implementation and could lead to confusion, less benefits for consumers and competition distortion in the market. Also, the legislation sould bring positive change and aim to decrease long periods of consumers waiting for their data or to change suppliers, Governments reassessing their situation etc.
